Deep down, every specialty healthcare practice knows they are leaving valuable physician referrals on the table.

What they may not recognize is that this is costing them hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars in lost revenue each year.

If physician referrals are so valuable, why do so many practices continue to let this opportunity pass by?

It’s the same reason you start a new diet every Monday morning only to be off the wagon by Wednesday afternoon.

  • You’re too busy
  • Change is hard
  • You didn’t plan properly by going to the grocery store to stock up on the right food and toss out the junk in the pantry
  • It’s hard to go against the grain when your friends and family are enjoying bacon and mimosas on Saturday morning
  • You didn’t want to invest the time or money into that personal trainer who could provide accountability and get you to your goal faster
  • Any myriad of other excuses

And you find yourself back to doing the same old thing that got you into this mess in the first place and you’re still not seeing the results you want.

Right about now you’re probably asking, “What does my Monday morning diet and couch potato lifestyle have to do with physician referrals?”

I’m so glad you asked.

Starting something new is hard. Going against the grain is hard. Status quo is simpler, especially when you’re running a busy practice.

But…

What if this could create a massive opportunity for you?

How can you use the “couch potato” mindset to your advantage?

Chances are, your competitor feels the exact same way. They think, “Sure, we could be doing better, but we’re doing ok.”

Staying on the couch is easier. Change is hard.

So, if you’re the practice who actually chooses to make the changes, invest in referral relationships, execute on the strategies, hire the right coach…

You put yourself so far ahead of the game that your competitor can’t catch up because they’re “too busy” keeping the status quo.

Besides, you didn’t choose healthcare to maintain the status quo or because it was easy. You chose healthcare to serve patients who desperately need care.

And partnering with referring physicians is a great way to serve more patients who need what you have to offer.

If you know you’re not getting the number of physician referrals you could be, you’re missing out on the valuable opportunity to serve more patients who are looking for someone to take care of them.

Or…

Are you going to be the practice who gets off the couch and dominates your market?
