Your patients and referring doctors want to hear from you, the expert.
These days, video is king.
Video is one of the best ways for patients and referring doctors to get to know and connect with your practice.
Thankfully, the pandemic eliminated any last need for heavily scripted, edited, and produced video. We’ve zoomed in our PJ’s, google met while homeschooling kids, and went to meetings with pets on our lap (and even posing for the camera from time to time).
Highly scripted and heavily produced advertising has been on its way out for years. This generation of consumers is looking for something real, honest, and trustworthy. Why do you think influencer marketing has become so successful?
If you’re my client, you’ve heard me say, “Just grab your iPhone, set a time, record a few videos and go for it.”
It’s OK if it’s raw and unscripted. It makes you seem human, relatable, and approachable.
But I have a confession to make…
I haven’t been taking my own advice.
Yes, I know I need to.
Yes, I know I’m making it harder than it has to be.
Since I don’t want to be one of those people who doesn’t practice what I preach, I decided it was time to dive in and do some recording.
I reached out to my home girl and physician liaison extraordinaire, Kate Gibson, who was willing to help me create a fun but informative series of videos about what’s hot and what’s not in the world of referral networks and physician liaisons.
We jumped on a zoom call (she’s in Texas and I’m in Oklahoma), and in an hour, we recorded a 4-video series.
If you do the math, that’s a weekly video for an entire month, monthly video for a quarter and then some, or quarterly video for a year recorded in one hour’s time.
They are raw, unscripted, and off the cuff (you might even see a few blips when the internet connection went wonky). But I wanted you to see that, yes, you can do this! And no, it doesn’t have to be perfect.
Don’t overthink it!
If you want to check it out, you can see the first video below.
Now it’s your turn. Just do it! Have fun with it and let me know how it goes.
